SKIRRET

Skir"ret, n. Etym: [A corrupted form equivalent to sugarwort.] (Bot.)

Definition: An umbelliferous plant (Sium, or Pimpinella, Sisarum). It is a native of Asia, but has been long cultivated in Europe for its edible clustered tuberous roots, which are very sweet.
