PHLOX

Phlox, n. Etym: [L., a kind of flower, fr. Gr. (Bot.)

Definition: A genus of American herbs, having showy red, white, or purple flowers. Phlox worm (Zoöl.), the larva of an American moth (Heliothis phloxiphaga). It is destructive to phloxes.
