LETHAL

Leth"al, n. Etym: [Lauric + ether + alcohol.] (Chem.)

Definition: One of the higher alcohols of the paraffine series obtained from spermaceti as a white crystalline solid. It is so called because it occurs in the ethereal salt of lauric acid.
