Snap, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Snapped; p. pr. & vb. n. Snapping.] Etym: [LG. or D. snappen to snap up, to snatch; akin to G. schnappen, MHG. snaben, Dan. snappe, and to D. snavel beak, bill. Cf. Neb, Snaffle, n.]
