REPARATION
Rep`a*ra"tion (-r"shn), n. Etym: [F. réparation, L. reparatio. See
Repair to mend.]
1. The act of renewing, restoring, etc., or the state of being
renewed or repaired; as, the reparation of a bridge or of a highway;
– in this sense, repair is oftener used. Arbuthnot.
2. The act of making amends or giving satisfaction or compensation
for a wrong, injury, etc.; also, the thing done or given; amends;
satisfaction; indemnity. make reparation or reparations.
