Re*mit" (r-mt"), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Remitted; p. pr. & vb. n. Remitting.] Etym: [L. remittere, remissum, to send back, to slacken, relax; pref. re- re- + mittere to send. See Mission, and cf. Remise, Remiss.]
