LITHOPHYSE

Lith"o*physe, n. Etym: [Litho- + Gr. (Min.)

Definition: A spherulitic cavity often with concentric chambers, observed in some volcanic rocks, as in rhyolitic lavas. It is supposed to be produced by expanding gas, whence the name.
