DORADO

Do*ra"do, n. Etym: [Sp. dorado gilt, fr. dorar to gild, fr. L. deaurare. See 1st Dory, and cf. Fl Dorado.]

Definition: A southern constellation, within which is the south pole of the ecliptic; -- called also sometimes Xiphias, or the Swordfish.

2. (Zoöl.)

Definition: A large, oceanic fish of the genus Coryphæna.
